Spring 2006¡@
- (06/29/06, Friday) There are still a few
groups not yet completing all the lab exercises. Please
make appointment with Polly as soon as you can to present
all lab results. The last time to complete all the labs
will be Wednesday (7/5) 5:30pm.
- (06/29/06, Friday) We will need a bit
more time to sort out the final presentation and report grades.
Please stay tuned and check back again on Monday (7/3).
- (05/26/06, Friday) The final project
presentation will be peer reviewed. You need to
be present to evaluate other students' work.
- (05/26/06, Friday) The final project
presentation will start 6/23 9:10-12:10 and then continue
from 14:20 to 17:20. The presentation order will be
the reverse of the project idea presentations. And that will
be: Team #9(9:10-9:30), #6(9:35-10:55), #4(10:10-10:30),
#8(10:35-10:55), #5(11:10-11:30), #2 (11:35-11:55), #7(12:10-12:30),
#13(2:20-2:40), #10(2:45-3:05), #11(3:20-3:40), #3(3:45-4:05),
#1(4:20-4:40), and #12(4:45-5:05).
- (05/19/06, Friday) Polly has an important
meeting to attend today noon (shortly afternoon the class ends).
Those who wish to show their ns-2 lab#2 results can do so next
week in the lab hours.
- (05/19/06, Friday) It is a sure thing that
the 150 minutes 6/23 Friday morning will not be enough the final
presentation. We will set another half day (say Friday afternoon)
to allow all presentations.
- (05/19/06, Friday) There are approximately
6 weeks to go until the final project presentation. Please note
the progress of your project.
- (05/19/06, Friday) Based on the project proposals we
received, several teams did not have project title at all. Team #1, #2,
#5, #9, #12, #13, please your project title to the TA asap to allow as to
grade your project proposals.
- (04/14/06, Friday) The general comments for the project
proposals are that you need these necessary componenets to make a good proposal:
(1) real motivation (there's a need to solve this problem),
(2) well-defined problem (be specific),
(3) unique solution/idea (read more and discuss more so you can be innovative),
and (4) concrete experimental plan (be detailed).
For most of the teams, only (1) and (2) are clear. It is really important that
you spend time and get (3) and (4) clear in a week. This way you will know what
to do next in the later half of the semester.
- (04/14/06, Friday) The grading for the paper reviews are
more than half-way through. There will be just a slight delay of a week to
return the graded reviews.
- (04/14/06, Friday) Please note also the labs for the rest
of the semester will held in EEII-132. The lectures about the tools, however,
remain in BL-103.
- (04/14/06, Friday) Please be reminded of the due date to
turn in the project proposal is April 28, Friday, 00:00. You have less than
one week time to publish your proposal.
- (04/14/06, Friday) If you submit your homework late (especially
several days after the dead-line), please inform the TA. Or your homework
may be missed.
- (03/31/06, Friday) Please note newly set office hour,
Saturday 10-12am, has been added to the Admin page.
- (03/31/06, Friday) Polly sees that there are
several students auditing the class seriously. That is perfectly
fine. The suggestion is that these students identify a team to
tag along for the rest of the class, including doing the labs
and projects, so it will be easier to manage and in the
meantime the students can participate not just in the lectures
but also the rest of the class activities.
- (03/31/06, Friday) Your paper reviews are
being graded. They will be returned with feedback as soon
as they are available.
- (03/31/06, Friday) You will be given a bit of time
towards the end of the lecture this week to have group discussions
to brainstorm about the project ideas.
- (03/31/06, Friday) Team #7, #2, #5, #8, #4, #6,
and #9 will be up for project idea presentations two weeks after.
- (03/31/06, Friday) In the lecture this week,
we will set the office hours.
- (03/31/06, Friday) In your project idea presentation,
please bring to our attention (1) the motivating problem, (2) the related
work, (3) your idea of pursuing the problem further, and (4) your
plan to do the experiment to prove that your idea is good.
- (03/31/06, Friday) A gental reminder that Team #12,
#1, #3, #11, #10 and #13 will be up for project idea presentations
next week. Please note the limited amount of time we have. Prepare
for no more than 20 mins of talk and leave the rest of the time for
open discussions.

login name, password, and the directory to ftp your paper reviews
